SOCIAL ACTION

BLOOD DRIVE.jpg

Temple Beth Avodah is deeply rooted in our commitment to Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. This is a core value that drives the ways that we care for ourselves, each other, and the world.  Over the years, we’ve developed partnerships with many organizations to focus of justice, equality, and compassion.  Our current initiatives include:

  • Jewish Family & Children’s Services Family Table: In addition to collecting and delivering our assigned salmon and raisins for the food pantry, we periodically volunteer at Family Table during the year.

  • The Second Step: We are committed to assisting those who are experiencing domestic violence. One of the ways that we do this is through making home cooked meals to bring nourishment and comfort to those in this program.

  • Red Cross Blood Drive: We run blood drives twice a year to assist the Red Cross with their efforts.

  • Welcome Home: We have sponsored collections for household items to assist those who are experiencing a need to set up new housing for a variety of reasons.

  • Projects in our school: Students in our Early Learning Center through Grade 12 regularly participate in projects through our school. For more information on their projects, contact Director of Education Heidi Baker.
