BECOMING A MEMBER FAQ'S
Why Become a Member?
At Temple Beth Avodah, we welcome all individuals and families and embrace diversity in our community. As a member, we are here for you in every stage of life and will support you in your celebrations and times of need. Belonging to TBA means being part of a community that is present with you in joy, sadness, comfort, and hope.
New members are invited to join TBA without making a financial contribution in their first year. This gift enables you to get to know the TBA community and begin to build relationships first. Once you have a better sense of the value you feel in the community, you can make an informed choice about your Member Commitment which is outline below. For more information about TBA, please contact our Executive Director, Becky Oliver. If you are ready to join, click here to fill out our membership form. Once it is received, we’ll be in touch.
What is Temple Beth Avodah's Member Commitment Model?
Temple Beth Avodah’s Member Commitment model empowers members to make an informed choice about their contribution to TBA. We use a philanthropic model built giving meaningfully, developing relationships, and working together to create a strong temple community.

As of June 2025, TBA has seen a growth of 40 member households since implementing this model in 2023. Approximately 20% of our members have joined since 2023 and we are welcoming more every day. We have nearly doubled the number of major donors since 2022 and see consistent increased giving year over year from the majority of our members. This model has proven successful in lowering barriers to entry for new members and providing flexibility for all congregants, creating a more accessible and welcoming congregation.
What is included in the Member Commitment?
We are deeply grateful for the support of our members and encourage you to renew your commitment in a way that strengthens our community. Each year the cost of sustaining TBA increases and we appreciate your growing contribution to reflect this increase.

While the average contribution per household needed to sustain TBA is $4,300 in 2025-2026, we recognize that amount is not right for everyone and welcome gifts above or below that number. The choice of what you would like to contribute to support the TBA community is up to you.

In order to assist you in making this decision, we encourage you to review our 2025-2026 Budget and Member Commitment Information. If you are a returning member, you should have received a personalized recommendation to help guide you. When you are ready to make your Member Commitment for 2025-2026, please sign into your Shul Cloud account and click here to complete the form.
