HISTORY

Temple Beth Avodah was founded with a vision of fostering a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community. In 1963, a small group of families from South Newton, driven by a shared commitment to Reform Judaism, came together to establish a spiritual home for themselves and future generations. The founders embarked on a journey to create a sanctuary where individuals could connect with their Judaism, engage in worship and education, and build lasting relationships. Many of these founders, along with their children and grandchildren, remain members today. Over the years, we have expanded to become a diverse community from across the Boston area and beyond.  What has remained steadfast is our commitment to a personal approach to Jewish life, learning, and community.
