TBA is Going GREEN

Temple Beth Avodah is going green! Join us as we embark on a Solar Panel Project. Through this project, we are living our Jewish values by taking care of the environment and helping to repair the world. This is an exciting opportunity for TBA to lessen our environmental impact, create more sustainable energy, and decrease our energy costs. Your gift makes this project possible.

The Solar Panel Project is taking place over the 2022-23 year. We began in the summer of 2022 with the replacement of our roof to prepare for the addition of the panels. We’re busy working with our vendors and the City of Newton to prepare for the installation of the panels which is slated for the spring of 2023.  The total cost of this project is $200,000. Through a generous matching gift of $100,000, this project is on its way to being fully funded, but we need your gift to make it possible. As of December 11, 2022, we’ve raised $38,000; please help us secure this matching gift and contribution to the remaining $62,000 needed.

Why give to this project?

  • Certainty: You can be certain that your dollars are going directly to clean energy. This project is already in progress with the replacement of our roof in the summer and the coordination with the city and solar company already underway.

  • Match: The impact of your gift is doubled through the generous match of Lisa Cohen, long time TBA member. Your $18 will become $36, or even better your $1,800 will become $3,600. Click here for a message from Lisa about what inspires her about this project.

  • Impact: Donating to the TBA Solar Panel Project has many benefits. It supports clean energy, aligns with Jewish environmental values, and decreases our energy costs. For this one year, your one gift can have diverse impact.

If you typically give to an environmental cause, consider giving to the Solar Panel Project. If supporting environmental causes is new to you, this is a great way to start.
