So Much To Be Thankful For

For the second year in a row, TBA volunteers prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for the residents of The Second Step's two shelters. Brotherhood members cooked at TBA, several TBA families cooked together at the Goldfarbs' house, and lots of volunteers made their Thanksgiving specialties at home. We made quite a feast, which the folks at TSS were grateful and excited to receive! TSS staff reports that the kids were chatting and giggling all week as they anticipated their "Thanksgiving party," and hopefully we did not disappoint!

With everyone's help, we delivered to TSS a great menu of dips and hummus for appetizers, squash soup, corn bread, three kinds of stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed and roasted potatoes, sweet potato casserole, several salads, roasted vegetables, Brussels sprouts, green bean casserole, turkeys, and for dessert, multiple apple and pumpkin pies, cheese cake and a few types of cookies.

Thanks for all the delicious goodies from our home cooks (Laurette Bachman, Nancy Bloom, Caren Friedman, Jamie Genser, Gail Greenberger, Debbie Hart-Klein, Magda Hernandez, Beverly Marcus, Lynn Patkin, Laurie Probstein, the Schwartz family, Rachel Segall, Liz Tapper and Emily Ochlis, Suzy Willard Rosenthal); the Brotherhood group who cooked at TBA (Neal Appel, Bruce Blakely, Joshua Deitch and son Max, Jeremy Goldfarb, Mark Ingerman and daughter Rebecca, Andrew Lassar, James Nahirny, Mark Rosen, Jeff Tarmy, Barry Wanger); and the Havarah group that cooked at the Goldfarbs' house (the Goldfarb, Kogan, Nasisi, Sacks and Tarmy families). Special thanks to Mark Rosen and Ilona Goldfarb for organizing their cooking groups, and to Debbie Hart-Klein for planning the event.
