What A Weekend!

As our teens wrapped up a weekend of getting to know each other and learning together, they reflected on Monday night about why we participate in this connection with the Alliance High School. Some of their responses included:

  • It’s a way to connect with other Jews and understand that we are part of a larger Jewish community.

  • We can learn so much more by experiencing and being together and seeing things first hand.

  • Hearing from people with different experiences and different ideas is important.

  • Seeing Israel through the eyes of an Israeli is meaningful beyond just seeing the place.

  • Because its fun getting to know each other and hanging out!

From apple picking to learning about social action to walking through Boston to celebrating Shabbat, the time our 13 TBA teens and 15 Alliance teens has built bridges between our two communities in immeasurable ways. As we move into the second part of their stay, our Israeli guests will experience Jewish Boston, learn about education in America, and tour our city while continuing to stay with their hosts and be part of our TBA family. We are looking forward to Wednesday night when we all celebrate Simchat Torah together with the TBA community.
