Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen!
What an overwhelming response we had to this month's cooking for The Second Step. Who knew we would have too many people to fit into the TBA Kitchen? What an AWESOME problem to have! To those of you who volunteered this month after we were filled, we hope you will volunteer next time. Making Sure New Homes are in Ship SHOP Shape!
As part of this year’s focus on Tikkun Olam, Repairing the World, grade 7 has been learning about hunger and homelessness. Each student had the opportunity to choose where they wanted to volunteer. The first choice was to go to Hearth, an organization to end elder homelessness. At Hearth they would provide a meal and eat with the residents. The second choice was to shop at Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy products for women from The Women’s Lunch Place, a shelter serving homele

Having a Heart at Hearth
On Monday the 7th graders returned to Hearth to serve dinner to the residents there. After learning a bit more about Hearth and the services they provide, the 7th graders had a chance to talk with the residents. Everyone was so grateful to have dinner served to them and asked that TBA return soon.
